& Surfaces in Oil
How do you make clothing look soft, glass look transparent, metal look reflective, and wood look solid and textured? The secret is learning to see and paint the subtle differences in value, color, edges, reflections, and texture that define each surface.
In this 6-week oil painting class, you’ll explore techniques for painting a variety of challenging materials, including cloth, glass, metal, wood, and more. Through demonstrations and hands-on instruction, you’ll learn how to capture the unique qualities of various surfaces and create paintings with greater realism, depth, and visual impact.
Whether you’re refining your skills or looking to tackle subjects you’ve always found difficult, this class will give you the tools to confidently paint a whole new range of objects.
