(David Kassan)
Here are all the details for our upcoming workshop with David Kassan. If you have additional questions, please send us an email at:
WHERE
The DaVinci Studios is located in Sugar Land, TX, which is on the southwest side of Houston. Our studio is located in the Sugar Land Art Center:
Sugar Land Art Center
104 Industrial Blvd. Suite Q
Sugar Land, TX 77478

Driving Tip:
Turn onto Industrial Blvd and cross the railroad tracks. Then, take the first right across the "yellow bridge”.
Proceed straight into the parking lot and drive to the end. On your right is a glass door with a sign that says “Sugar Land Art Center. We’ll be in the “Blue Room”. Walk through the front door and you’ll see it.
WHEN
DATES:
Nov 4-7th (Mon-Thursday)
TIME:9:30 am - 4:30 pm
We will start promptly at 9:30 a.m., but the doors will open at 9:00 to bring in your supplies and check-in. Each day runs from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., but we’ll have plenty of breaks throughout the day.
WHAT TO EXPECT
Check-in:
On Day 1, please check-in (with Steve) and draw for an easel number. Note: Some easels are designated for "sitting" and some for "standing". Our process will address your preference.

The Flow:
Each morning we will watch David demo from a live model. Each afternoon, participants will break into two groups (based on their previously assigned easel position) to paint from two models.

Food:
Each morning, we will provide coffee, water, and some light snacks. We will have a one-hour lunch break
around 12:30 each day. We typically go out to lunch as a group, but DaVinci does have a break room, refrigerator, vending machine, and microwave available for those that choose to remain at the facility during lunch.
We will plan go to dinner together one evening if there is interest. Everyone is welcome.
SUPPLY LIST NOTES
- Although drawing supplies are listed in David’s supply list, you only need the painting supplies, not the drawing supplies.
- You are not required to purchase everything on the list. The list he provided is simply showing you the materials he will use for the demo.
- Students should use what they are used to using.
- However, the most important item is to bring a smoothly prepared ACM/dibond panel or surface.
ACM PANELS
Several individuals have expressed difficulty in obtaining the Dibond panel listed in David’s supply list. We have located an alternative ACM panel at Artefex that David approves.
Here is a link: Artefex Panel
Here are the specifics for the panel:
- Unprimed ACM Panel (Prepared a certain way)
- Size: 14 X 18
- Finish: Natural
- Panel Type: 3MM Clear (click on the first image under panel type)
(Prepare the panel according to David’s instructions.)
SUPPLY LIST
